The team at the heart of Concert Club! is Libby and Susie – together we make a violin and cello duo. We’ve worked together for more than a decade on many projects, and share a love of great tunes – especially Disney! We love playing string music for families, at concerts for kids and performances for community where everyone feels welcome. If you’d like to join us, check out our upcoming events.
Libby Croad (violin) ARAM
Libby is a violinist, composer and arranger. She has performed with artists from Beyoncé to Rob Brydon, from Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics to the RSC. Libby also appears on many recordings, including Classic FM chart-topping Vivaldi.
Radios 3 and 4, and Classic FM have broadcast her choral and instrumental compositions. Libby’s settings of Christmas carols have been performed by the BBC Singers, Sonoro and the Choir of Girton College, Cambridge. Her carols also appear in a new Anthology of Sacred Music, published by A Multitude of Voyces. In addition, Libby writes highly acclaimed string music. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Mozart Players and Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra have all performed her Suite For Strings, which also appears on concert programmes in Australia and the USA.
Libby loves sharing music in the community too. Music For Everyone in Nottinghamshire has commissioned a number of Libby’s works. She is a regular tutor for Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama, coaching kids chamber music towards concerts.
Susie Winkworth (cello)
Susie is a cellist, arranger and composer. As a cellist, she has worked with diverse artists including Bryan May, Mary J Blige, Tom Odell and Katherine Jenkins. She has performed with ensembles like National Symphony Orchestra, and also on the West End musicals Frozen, Hello Dolly and Aspects of Love.
Susie produces remote cello recording for film, tv and trailers from her home studio. Clients include Gothic Storm, Evolving Sound, Chris Davey, Ros Stephen and Hannu Honkonen.
Susie loves making music with students young and old. She has given workshops in many education settings, including for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Alina Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, Music and Management, as well as for Live Music Now! She also writes music for kids, performed in concerts all over the world.
Susie has collaborated on arranging projects for Judith Owen (Times Culture Top 100 Albums of the Year), Classical Kicks and DJ Rob da Bank and Sony. She writes bespoke arrangements including for Lizzie Ball, Kerenza Peacock, and Gabriella Swallow, United Learning and the Royal Opera House. In addition, her arrangements are programmed by include Musici Ireland, London Concertante, English Chamber Orchestra, Icon Strings and Kulios Quartet NZ.
